My Travel Style

on

I’m sure you can tell by the title that this post is all about how I dress while I’m traveling.  Now to all my friends reading this I know what you are thinking…Faith usually looks a mess when traveling. You are absolutely correct, LOL! Normally I wear nothing more than a t-shirt and some sweats with zero makeup. However, this week I will be traveling to Atlanta for The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo so my plan is to look my best from Thursday morning until Sunday night so let me be great! I can remember a few years back traveling to ATL for their annual Greek picnic. I did my usual routine if looking a mess while traveling. I had on an old Nicki Minaj tshirt, some pink sweat pants, and some flip flops. After that 9 hour drive my hair was all over my head and I had on zero makeup. When we pulled up to the hotel there were people EVERYWHERE. I was so shame getting out the car I vowed to never travel to another big event looking that raggedy, especially when staying at the host hotel. Whether flying or driving, you should always take a few minutes to try to at least look decent when you arrive at your destination. This is why I came up with my travel outfit routine.

My number one concern when traveling is being comfortable. The first thing I like to do is make sure that I am wearing comfortable shoes. The airport can require a lot of walking, so it is definitely not the place to wear heels. You also want to make sure your shoes are easy to get on and off when its time to get checked by TSA. You don’t want to have on shoes with a lot of straps or buckles. I generally like to wear sneakers, a simple sandal, or a pair of flats. Next up I like to have on comfortable clothing. Between long flights and layovers you could spend the entire day sitting around waiting. For me nothing is more comfortable that stretchy bottoms. Leggings or jeggings are my go-to. The pair I’m wearing are my favorite, and are only $13 at Wal-Mart.  Last but not least, try to wear layers. Although its summer and extremely hot, most airports and airplanes can be cold. Instead of bringing along a sweater or jacket, I decided to style this look by tying a shirt around my waist. If I get cold I can put the shirt on, and if I’m hot I can wear it for style. This whole look was under $40 and perfect for traveling! As I previously stated I will be flying out to ATL in a few days so stay tuned to all my social medias to catch all the action at The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo!

Next stop ATL!
